I had purchased a set of tires there about a year ago with a warranty that made the tire and price to hard to walk away from. So fast forward to now. On Friday I walked out an noticed the tire had a hole. I went down to Big O and spoke with one of the sales guys (tall bald guy). He was GREAT! He looked at the tire, confirmed it was covered and ordered the tire from the warehouse and let me know I could come back on Sat or Mon to have it replaced. He also let me know that my out of pocket would be $18 -- needed to cover mounting. He even knew enough about the tire to let me know that pattern had changed -- which was just a nice to know. So this morning I went down to get the tire replaced. And this is when the one star service started. Steve was the guy that handled my transaction -- Which he then tells me I need to pay $67 to have my tire replaced... I had to refuse to pay it to learn that he was trying to charge for several things, one being another warranty. I told him I didn't need another warranty which then took it down to $27 -- but still not the $18 I was quoted. I had to refused to pay again and again tell him I was told it was $18 for the tire to be mounted a spare -- and after he mumbled a bunch of things I was charged just the $18. It really sucks to have to deal with people that are trying to overcharge by adding in things you don't ask for and NOT tell you what these additional charges are until you refuse to pay the charge. And on top of all this -- Steve had taken my original receipt with the warranty information and the receipt for the new tire. When I told him I needed my paperwork back he just walked away. After waiting for about 10 mins, thinking he was going to get the paperwork I had to ask another person working there and that other person was able to bring me back my paperwork -- And that I just felt was a little childish. And it really sucks that a single bad employee who I could not forget his name -- made me forget the name of the GREAT employee I got to deal with both on Friday and when I had completed everything... That was the tall bald guy (hoping that is enough to set him apart since that is all I have to go off).
If I could give zero stars it would be more appropriate. I had an oil change done yesterday and started noticing an exhaust like smell. Ive never had an exhaust issue with my vehicle and figured it must be a car near me. But the odor persisted. When i opened the hood the oil cap had not been replaced and oil was on the engine and bottom side of hood. Tried calling to leave a message for contact in the morning as Im not sure if my car is safe to drive and no voicemail is possible. Who forgets to put the cap on?
