The food was flavorful and the owners treat patrons like family. I went went with the chicken and waffle with a side of sweet potato fries. They use succulent chicken thighs and they were cooked just right. The waffle batter was made of red velvet which was a completely different flavor then my usual chicken and waffles but tasted wonderful. The sweet potato fries had good flavor as well, however, I don't think due to the quantity they give you, $3 is the right price. Overall, I definitely enjoyed the food and the experience.

Star Shine

My husband and I are always looking for new places to eat around here and we came across Rhema Soul Cuisine in Queen Creek here on the net and read the great reviews. We decided to try it tonight and we weren't disappointed. It's a little difficult to find because it's tucked away in a back corner of a strip mall, but we persisted and we found it and we're glad we did. The restaurant is very small, but pretty and colorful, with only about five or six tables. You walk up to the counter to order and the menu is written on the wall. It was our first time there and a very sweet woman greeted us and welcomed us and told us all about the menu items. She answered all of our questions and made menu suggestions for us. I decided on the fried chicken and red velvet waffle since I had read such great reviews about it. My husband ordered the Symphony fries with the sweet/spicy sauce (they have a name for it but I don't remember it). We both ordered sweet tea. We noticed a few menu items were no longer available for the day, as they had just had a rush and run out of some items. There was still plenty to choose from. We sat down and as soon as we did, people began to stream in and there was a steady stream of people while we ate. They did run out of menu items pretty quickly but this isn't McDonalds, this is home made good food, so get there early and you should be ok. We sipped our sweet tea, which is fruity with a hint of vanilla and just a little too sweet for me, until our food was served. My husband's Symphony fries were piled high and looked great. My chicken and waffle also looked delish. I tasted the pork on his Symphony fries first because I had been undecided between the chicken and waffle and the ribs (which I'll try next time) and the pork and the bbq sauce were absolutely delicious, although I will say that the pork wasn't hot (temperature hot), so that was the only down side for me. I can't eat anything spicy due to stomach issues and the sweet/spicy sauce wasn't too spicy, it was perfect. Then I dug into my chicken and waffles. (*smiling*) I'm very picky about my fried chicken and this was thigh meat fried and then sliced set around the plate around the waffle. I'm not a fan of thigh meat, but I have to say, it was cooked perfectly, hot and juicy and the skin was perfectly seasoned, crisp and a little salty but not too salty. I'm very sensitive to salt and can't eat it and this chicken was definitely not too salty, it was perfect. In fact, it was so good, that I had trouble stopping to taste the waffle. The waffle is a true red velvet flavor with a wonderful icing drizzled over it (cream cheese I think). The waffle isn't a crisp waffle, but more of a cake or pancake consistency. It was absolutely delicious. As I said to my husband "this makes my mouth smile every time I take a bite." In short, the chicken and waffle were absolutely delicious and I would definitely order it again. In fact, my husband tasted it and he (who isn't a fan of chicken and waffles) said he wanted to order it next time. I couldn't stop eating and almost ate the entire plate of chicken and waffle, which was way more then I should eat but it was too good to stop. We had also ordered a slice of cornbread cake which we ended up bringing home (we'll be eating that in an hour or so) which is a big slab of cornbread drizzled with that same delicious icing. I'm definitely looking forward to it. Also, I'm glad we ordered it because they did run out of cornbread while we were there. The icing on the cake for me (other then the icing on the cornbread and waffle) is that the owners are from the Bronx, NY, which is right next to my hometown of Yonkers. New Yorkers are very picky about their food and I'm super picky, but I can tell you that we will definitely be back to Rhema's again and again. There are so many menu items we want to try and we love the place. Rhema Soul Cuisine, you make New York AND Arizona proud!!
