Let me start with the positives. I brought my watch in for a battery replacement and the price was phenomenal! The work was also done promptly. Lastly, the store was clean and the staff was friendly and seemed genuine. I could give this place a 5-star rating but having been in twice, once to drop off my watch for a battery replacement and once to pick it up, I would say their customer service could be just a tad bit more... proactive. I want to use the right word. The customer service wasn't bad. It wasn't bad at all, but there was a bit of room for improvement. There were two specific opportunities where they fell a bit short in my opinion. One time I inquired about what they thought my watch might be worth for selling ($1500 retail Gucci) and instead of offering to look up the price and possibly make a deal the lady said oh I don't know about that I would have to check on the computer and continued riding up the ticket . Yes, I could have asked her to look it up but Common Sense dictates one would offer to find the price and ask if they would like to sell it . After all, it is a jewelry store. No big deal, but a lost opportunity. Secondly, when I came to pick up my watch the gentleman who greeted me, he was a younger guy, didn't really have much enthusiasm and didn't offer a proper greeting exactly. I only mention this because I dealt with him twice and he didn't offer much more than a what can I do for ya?
When I mention proactivity, when someone walks in the door they should immediately be approached with a smile and asked "Hi, how are you? Welcome to ABC Jewelers, how can I help you today?" Super simple and it goes a long way. Again, these are very minor things to bring up but it's the little things that differentiate a 4-star experience from a 5-star experience. For the record, my experience was still a positive one and I will be bringing my future jewelry needs to the shop still.
