This post office had pretty good reviews so we sent a few packages General Delivery to this town via Amazon Prime (free-shipping). When we arrived to pick up our packages, they told us that UPS originally had our package and dropped it off at USPS which caused us to have to pay $26 in postage. First, shipping was paid so whichever carrier we picked up the package with should have only had to ask for our id and give us our packages. Second, UPS shouldn't have haphazardly decided to switch carriers on their own accord if they were responsible for the package (they got their review!). They took it from UPS, stuck it on a shelf and charged us for some fee which made no sense. Why accept the package from UPS?Finally, if shipping wasn't paid, then how on earth did it make it all the way to your post office? If shipping isn't paid, packages are sent back to the shipper. The shipper, Amazon in this case, is responsible for the shipping fees. In all the time we have been receiving packages while traveling, this is a first time we've been charged unnecessary fees by a USPS station. I may not understand all the politics involved in our wonderful shipping system but I do understand that this kind of system is broken and it demonstrates the complete incompetence of the mailing system in this general region. Their motto should be, if we can't get it right no worries, we'll just make it the customer's problem!

The new bilingual post master is efficient and helpful. I travel the country and she is the best I have come across.
